Entro Industries to Exhibit at OTC 2026 at Booth 1010, Highlighting Retrofit Work, Rebuilds, and the Continued Growth of Its X-Swing Walking Systems
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Booth 1010 | May 4–7, 2026 | NRG Park | Houston
Houston — When a drilling operator’s walking system goes down and the original manufacturer no longer supports it, replacing the entire system is not the only option. Entro Industries has built a growing part of its business around helping operators recover from exactly that problem.
Entro will exhibit at the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference, May 4–7 at NRG Park in Houston. Visitors can find the company at Booth 1010.
Over the last year, Entro rebuilt and refurbished about 20 walking systems. Some were Entro units updated and modified for new rigs. Others were systems from other manufacturers with structural failures, hydraulic failures, or control problems that were no longer supported by the OEM. In many cases, Entro was able to retain the jacks and support structure while replacing controls, hydraulics, and other failed components, giving customers a practical alternative to full replacement.
Entro will also be meeting with customers about its X-Swing walking systems, which continue to gain traction in the market. The company says about three out of every four walkers it is currently selling are X-Swings. The latest systems offer up to 48 inches of stroke per step, along with larger hydraulics that enable faster walking speeds than previous generations. Those gains are driven by an in-house PLC control system developed by Entro.
"When a customer comes to us with equipment that is down and unsupported, our job is to get it back in service," said Shawn R. Smith, PE, president of Entro Industries. "And when customers are specifying new systems, they want speed, reliability, and controls they can count on. That is what we are building."
Founded in 1994 by mechanical engineer Harlan Smith, Entro has designed and built more than 200 rig-moving systems worldwide. The company serves oil and gas, offshore, heavy transport, and other industrial sectors where large structures must move safely and reliably.
