Entro’s strength is not in just in its portfolio of products. Our strength is also in our ability to develop simple solutions for new design challenges. Sometimes the solution will include designing a new piece of equipment for a specific application. Other times, the right solution for the client will be to refurbish or modify an existing asset to fit it to a new application. The following case studies highlight just a few different projects that we have had the opportunity to work on.

WALKING SYSTEMS CASE STUDIES

Pony-Sub Walking Box Rig

A box-on-box rig with a new side saddle design that was intended to walk well-to-well from the start. By orienting the rig boxes to be in line with the well row, and orienting the pipe handling perpendicular to the well row, the rig is much more efficient. MORE

Autowalk Series for Ideal Rigs

A customer needed a better way to move NOV Ideal Rigs on the pad in the lower 48. They had some tough requirements: fast hole-to-hole times, fast rig-up/rig-down times, high accuracy, and minimal pieces to handle. MORE

HEAVY HAUL CASE STUDIES

WFC Hitchwheeler

Entro Industries designed the Hitchwheeler system to improve their customer's efficiency by eliminating the need to hire outside services to move from well to well. MORE

HEAVY HAUL SUSPENSION CYLINDER REBUILD

A client had contacted Entro about a possible evaluation and rebuild of a suspension cylinder for their rig. Entro repaired the cylinder, which was then put back in service in the North Slope of Alaska. MORE

CDR3 HEAVY HAUL TRAILER REBUILD

An existing trailer that had not been in service in many years was thought to be a suitable candidate for a rig-support trailer for a new CDR3 rig. MORE

MATERIAL HANDLING CASE STUDIES

Doyon Pipe Handling

Doyon Drilling contracted Entro Industries to design a casing and drill pipe infeed system for their brand new Rig 26 project. MORE

CUSTOM RIGS CASE STUDIES

Nabors CDR3 Rig

Nabors Drilling identified a need for a purpose-built coiled tubing rig for the North Slope of Alaska. The rig would address requirements from ConocoPhillips, Alaska to improve recovery in the existing oil fields on the North Slope. MORE

Hillcorp Innovation Rig

In late 2015, Entro was awarded the contracts to build all of the supertrailers, walking systems, heavy wheel systems, and heavy haul jeeps that would mobilize Hillcorp's newly-designed rig and its support modules. MORE

CASE STUDIES

COMPETITOR'S WALKER REFURB

A client had a competitor’s walking system that been installed and operating on a rig. The rig was eventually decommissioned. The stomper assemblies were returned to Entro for refurbishment and installation into another machine. MORE

SUSPENSION CYLINDER REBUILD

COMPETITOR'S STOMPER FEET UPGRADE

Many of Entro's customers have seen rig mats damaged by inadequate stompers equipped on competitors walking systems. Customers have shipped these stompers to us to be equipped with Entro's Stomper Feet, which have the ability to resist failure and/or damage in soft site situations. MORE

JACK CYLINDER REBUILD

After external inspection and operational review, the main jack cylinders were disassembled for full internal inspection. MORE

ENTRO WALKER REBUILD

Entro Walkers were installed and operating on a rig for a major client for seven years. The rig was eventually decommissioned. The walking system appeared to be in good operational order, and thus could be used for future projects. MORE
